Anointing with the Sacred Chrism

Clothing with White Garment

The child is dressed with a white garment, symbol of the purity of their soul from the original sin.

Lighting of Candle

The father of the child light their candle from the Paschal candle, and pass the flame on to the others. The candle is the symbol of our faith in Jesus Christ. As a candle gives light to a dark place. so our faith enlightens our life and the life of the whole world.

” Parents and godparents, this light is entrusted to you to be kept burning brightly. These children of yours have been enlightened by Christ. They are to walk always as children of the light. May they keep the flame of faith alive in their hearts.”
